Les Regles de jeu

I definitely think that The Rules of the Game is a very well-made movie, and one that if you watch many, many times, you'll find something new about it, whether it be in cinematography, story, message, acting, etc.
Yes, the storyline could get a bit confusing sometimes, but I think that's a problem with it being a subbed movie. In a movie with subtitles, I'm far more inclined to be constantly looking at the bottom of the screen, so I can know what's being said, and I'll miss a lot of the action and details. And part of this may be just me, but much of the movie, I couldn't tell who was who or who was referring to whom, and that confused the heck out of me. But it's an entertaining movie, at the very least.

I have a very hesitant respect for the hunting scene, mostly because of the fact that live animals were being massacred onscreen, but it happens every day in nature (not quite to that degree, though). And the fact that it has the power to make people uncomfortable watching that scene is a very useful trick in film. I really did start to hate the characters because of that scene...
